A Kenya honeymoon: bush, then beach

The order matters. Safari first, while you are curious and early. The coast second, when you want the days to loosen.

A honeymoon in Kenya is usually two moods in one ticket: a private vehicle in the bush, then a stretch of sand where nobody is collecting you at dawn.

The bush half

Three or four nights in the Mara, Amboseli, or a Laikipia conservancy. Ask for a camp with a tent that is genuinely private, and a guide who will not fill every silence. A balloon, if you want one, belongs on a morning you are not also changing camps.

The coast half

Diani is the simplest flight connection. Watamu is quieter and good if you care about the reef. Lamu is the romantic choice if you like a town more than a resort. Give the coast at least four nights. Two nights is a transfer with a sea view.
